PYG in joint venture with ARVUM, will carry out for the Sociedad Mercantil Estatal de Infraestructuras Agrarias (SEIASA), the Technical Assistance of the works management of the project for the direct hydraulic connection of the irrigation networks of reservoirs 1 and 2 with the Peñarroya reservoir (Ciudad Real).

The objective of this action is to take advantage of the hydraulic energy available in the reservoir to carry out irrigation, thus significantly reducing the need for pumping, and with it, the consumption of electrical energy. In addition, water losses due to the current deterioration of the canals will be avoided.

According to the Estrecho de Peñarroya irrigation community and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), the irrigation modernization works will benefit around 2,000 irrigators who cultivate 7,842 hectares in the municipalities of Argamasilla de Alba, Tomelloso and Campo de Criptana.
