Water and Sanitation for Communities in Bilwi, Nicaragua
With the objective of improving the quality of life of the population of the Municipality of Bilwi, Nicaragua, complete potable water and sanitation services were provided to 100% of the homes in four communities. Through an integrated approach, from diagnosis to implementation, sustainable solutions were designed and implemented, adaptable to the socioeconomic development and rural characteristics of these areas.
Project Phases:
- Integral Diagnosis: Evaluation of existing water supply and sanitation.
- Feasibility Studies: Analysis of the best alternatives from technical, economic and social perspectives.
- Community Participation: Conducting assemblies to involve the communities in the choice of technical solutions.
- Detailed Design: Finalization of the design of the works considering every detail.
- Documentation for Contracting: Preparation of documents for the execution of the works.
- Socio-Environmental Accompaniment: Inclusion of a line item for community work and socio-environmental support.
This project not only provides essential services, but also contributes to the sustainable development of the communities.
