PYG en UTE con ARVUM, realizará para la Sociedad Mercantil Estatal de Infraestructuras Agrarias (SEIASA), la Asistencia Técnica a la dirección de las obras del proyecto de conexión hidráulica directa de las redes de riego de las balsas 1 y 2 con el embalse de Peñarroya (Ciudad Real).

The objective of this action is to take advantage of the hydraulic energy available in the reservoir to carry out irrigation, thus significantly reducing the need for pumping, and with it, the consumption of electrical energy. In addition, water losses due to the current deterioration of the canals will be avoided.

According to the Estrecho de Peñarroya irrigation community and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), the irrigation modernization works will benefit around 2,000 irrigators who cultivate 7,842 hectares in the municipalities of Argamasilla de Alba, Tomelloso and Campo de Criptana.
